The small, pottery dish was hand thrown by Bamboushay and was presented in a recycled, spinnaker sail bag, created by Annie MacPhail.
Dish by Bamboushay – (bam-boo-shaa) – A Virgin Islands festive dance performed to invoke good luck. This practice, dating back more than 150 years was associated with pit firing of ceramic vessels used for liquids and provisions. Generations later, the tradition of creating beautiful and functional hand made goods continues. This piece has been formed from start to finish at the studio in Tortola.
Spinnaker Sail bag by Annie MacPhail – annie macphail TM bags are hand crafted in the shop studio in Road Town, Tortola using sailcloth in its original state.
