STATE OF THE UNION

After Hurricane Irma ripped through the British Virgin Islands on September 6th, our 45-boat fleet on Tortola was looking severely ‘compromised’ to say the least.

However, with incredible hard work, determination, and ingenuity, our staff have managed to work wonders in restoring our fleet.

XX
YACHTS

At this time of writing we have XX boats available for charter and will have XX boats available from Thanksgiving.

Horizon Yacht Charters BVI was fortunate to have six yachts on order that arrived in October and November 2017.  They were commissioned, and on December 22nd we sent out our first two charters - one on Island karma, a new Bavaria Cruiser 41, and the other, a Lagoon 42 Nola,  with 2016 Yachtsman of the Year Gavin Reid, aboard.

Horizon was pleased to see all the new yachts out on charter over Christmas and New year. This included the new owners of the fabulous catamaran flagship Katrina, a Saba 50 catamaran from Fountaine Pajot, and the owner aboard the opulently equipped Bavaria 41 monohull, Patches.

Horizon has been operating both as a charter company and a yacht renovation yard since that fateful day in September and the first fruits of our labour - Double Expresso, our 4-cabin Open 40 catamaran - was back on charter on January 6th.

Since then, the repaired yachts, old favourites, have been re-entering charter service thick and fast: Swift, Bavaria 36; Jitterbug, Bavaria 37; Maverick, Bavaria 34; Greenwave, Bavaria 46; Imagine, Bavaria 50 - all monohulls that had new masts, and all chartered in February.

On the catamaran side: Maple Cookie, Helia 44; Precious Time, Lipari 41; Wavelength, 3-cabin Open 40 all rejoined the fleet.

GREENWAVE AFTER HER RELAUNCH

Free Spirit and Nova, our fabulous Fly Bridge Nautitech 46s, will  be back in service later in April 2018, as will Caribbean Blue, our Lagoon 450.

The Brown family, purchased their third yacht with Horizon in March, Hakuna Matata III a Bavaria Cruiser 46. (You can see glimpses of her in Anegada here.)

Due to a mast delay, Cosette, our Jeanneau 50 will be back in service in June.

POST-IRMA TOILING & RELAUNCHES

Yacht sales have been buoyant, and this week, we have a new Bavaria 37, and a new Helia 44 Maestro Amatheia joining the fleet.  In June, the Munro family will be sailing Transatlantic on their new Fountaine Pajot Helia 44, Altair, to bring her into the fleet.

In October, Horizon will show a new Bavaria Nautitech Fly 46 catamaran at the Annapolis boat show – dates – contact us for details on ownership of this cat.

We have a Mark 2 Bavaria Nautitech Open 40 joining our fleet in November. The Open 40 won best boat in Sailing World and Cruising World awards in 2015, when Horizon had the sailing press aboard after the Annapolis show that year.  The Mark 2 has larger picture hull windows, for great vistas and light in each cabin. The galley moves aft in the saloon, and there is detailing to further enhance the looks of this contemporary cat. The ease of handling and sparkling performance – 8 knots upwind at 40 apparent in 18 true for example, remains the same.

We have a new Lagoon 450F joining in November, and another in mid 2019.
