Sponsorship Activation – Sol
Broadsword developed and managed activities and branding opportunities within budget to help Sol Petroleum activate its gold sponsorship of the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival.
Tactics included developing a strategic partnership with the organisers to distribute oil-absorbent marine pads to the sailors to help the BVISR attain Clean Regatta status, and to highlight the Sol racing course with highly visible branded, buoys.
We also ensured that Sol integrated its ongoing support of the Royal BVI Yacht Club youth sailing programme by promoting the RBVIYC donation from fuel dock sales and by providing the programme with a space at the Sol booth to promote junior sailing and to sell raffle tickets for which Sol also provided the top prize. The kids were kitted out in Broadsword-designed, SOl-branded t-shirts.
We also conceptualized a Sol sponsored fun, mini-relay for the Optimist sailors during the regatta.
All tactics were designed to secure pre–event cross promotions and to deliver a series of on-site attractions and to maximise publicity through traditional and social media outlets.
